Our culture and our Immutable Principles — dignity of the person, service, integrity, and stewardship — guide us in the decisions we make, the ways we interact with others, and how we serve our customers. That is what makes Hollister Incorporated such a great place to work. Read our Associate stories below to find out what it is like to be a Hollister Associate. From the beginning, I’ve felt looked after

After 14 years working in aerospace engineering, I decided to switch to biomedical because I wanted to use my technical expertise to make a real difference in people’s lives. I was originally attracted to Hollister because of the focus on People First through products, services and an employee-owned company. I was encouraged by the emphasis on engineering excellence and John Dickinson Schneider’s motto that “only first-class is good enough”. Once I started, it was clear to me that Hollister was a welcoming place to work, where different perspectives are valued and encouraged and family life balance is supported – my most important job is being a mum to three young children.

The operations here are fast-paced and demanding, but my manager and leadership team have always found the time to help me learn and ensure that I succeed. I knew very quickly that I could be at my best here. Hollister is a great place to have a technical career, whether you are interested in research and development, product design or manufacturing. The level of innovation and manufacturing technology development here is impressive, and the opportunities in STEM fields are endless.

The Immutable Principles also inspire me, particularly Stewardship. Unlike the aerospace industry that is focused on controlling costs, Hollister makes decisions based on the long-term and what’s best for the customer – not the bottom line. I see it in my colleagues every day as we strive to make the best products we can and the company investments in future products and technologies to serve our customers better.

Finally, Hollister gave me more than a job – it gave me a community. When I relocated to Ballina, the pandemic hit two days after I started. I was one of the few to stay onsite to help to make plant operations safe, but the pandemic made it harder to make social connections. So, my colleagues helped me to connect in the ways that I could. I joined the biodiversity team and regularly swim in the sea and run with my co-workers during lunch. I’ve made real friendships along the way.
From the beginning, I’ve felt looked after.
