Be Kind to Yourself

Your guide to staying rested, inspired and hopeful.

Take note of how you are feeling today.

Checking in helps you get it all out
As a nurse on the frontlines, you are being asked to answer tough questions, give meaningful answers, and offer comfort to people in pain. While you’re busy being the expert for your patients, it can be difficult to stay present and engaged in your own life.

The first step is treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding you show your patients. Challenge yourself to use a notepad (or open the notes app on your phone!) to address how and what you’re feeling. We think you’ll see it can be both empowering and freeing to take all the thoughts in your head and get them OUT onto paper.

You are accustomed to checking on the patients you care for; now take time out to check in on yourself.

Self check-in checklist

At the end of each workday or work week, consider how you would complete the following thoughts
I celebrate…
I hope…
I accept…
I want…
I need…
I feel…
